The arcticplastic project’s mission is to innovate ways of plastic waste recycling as an alternative to incineration and to develop a sustainable model of plastic waste management in the Arctic town of Longyearbyen.

The project will create a circular economy to collect plastic waste from residents, schools, community organizations, businesses, tourists, and Svalbard’s Arctic shores. Collected plastic waste will be processed and manufactured into plastic materials and products.
